The heart of our life together as a Unitarian Universalist congregation is our time in Sunday morning worship. We invest significant resources to gather as a religious community for our Sunday Services: sharing, reflecting, caring, giving, listening, learning, celebrating and singing.
Are our Sunday services important to you? Do you find yourself being moved? What is UU worship? Do particular readings or songs stay with you? Do you wonder how our worship is unique and different from other traditions? If you answered, "Yes," to any of these questions, you might consider becoming a Worship Arts Associate.
The Worship Arts Associates program is an opportunity to become more involved and learn new skills by participating in a series of workshops. Led by Rev. Claudia Elferdink, these workshops will give you the theory, help you practice and give you the time to plan rich and moving U.U. services.- Learn together with the Minister to deepen your understanding of Unitarian Universalist worship.
- Build confidence in creating and leading worship services, including balancing
topics, handling transitions and shaping the flow of the service.
- Learn about the role and use of music in worship.
- Consider generational, cultural, gender, theological and other diversities and how they play into planning worship.
- Learn about adult and multi-generational worship; services with children and family worship.
