Many of us are feeling anxious and maybe a little bit hopeless these days. As we say with seasonal illnesses, “There’s something going around…” Whatever it is that’s ‘going around,’ we need each other to reawaken hope, to help us laugh, and to renew our depleted energy levels. If you are finding it challenging to get out of bed on Sunday mornings, you are not alone. Come to church. There’s a reasonably fair chance you’ll feel better!!
Back in the spring, I helped plan an event at the First Congregational Church in Madison called “Having the Talk,” a workshop for adults on how to help children and youth develop healthy relationships and sexuality in a highly sexualized society. Shoreline Unitarian Universalist Church is one of the sponsors of this event. The workshop will take place on Saturday evening, October 14. If you have children entering adolescence, this may be a useful event for you. You can sign up at www.fccmadison.org.
*Attention! We will have a Shoreline UU Parent Meeting this Sunday, October 15 after church at noon. This is to give you, our parents, an overview of our plans for the RE year and to get your feedback.
We are looking for more people to volunteer to watch the youngest among us in the nursery. This is an occasional job. Youth are welcome! Talk to Nate if you would like to help out.
