Update on Environmental Task Group & A Call to Madison Residents

The Environmental Task Group has been working with a coalition of concerned Connecticut groups to urge the Madison Board of Selectmen to pass an ordinance banning the transfer, storage, or dispersal of toxic fracking wastes within the town. If the Board approves the ordinance, Madison will join 33 other CT towns that have already adopted the ordinance, among them Branford and New London on the shoreline.

Here is where you come in, especially Madison residents. The ordinance will be taken up as new business on December 18, please come to the meeting at the Town Campus.  Details in this Wednesday’s News.

If you cannot make it to the meeting, consider writing a letter to the selectmen or a letter to the editor in support of adopting such a ban. Here is a link to talking points about these toxic wastes of the hydraulic fracturing process.
