Splinters From the Board – Update on Staff and Worship Services

The Board of Trustees has been in conversation with our staff and have made recommendations for them to revise and reduce their workload, so they can take care of themselves and their families. No salary or benefit reductions are being considered at this time. If you have any concerns or specific questions, please direct them to me as president, or to any board member.   Martha, our administrator is best reached by email if you have questions regarding events or if you need to schedule a Zoom meeting.

Rev. Jeanne’s asthma has kicked in, and she will be on sick leave until next Tuesday, April 7. Please let her rest and recover over these next few days.  Martha is working from home and checking the mail and the building.  Amy and Nick continue to work from their homes and are in discussion with our sister church, All Souls in New London.  We have been invited to join this blended service on YouTube this Sunday at 10:00am by clicking here.

As you can see, our small congregation has great needs but can only afford part time staffing.  And so we will ask again – how much does this congregation mean to you?  The Board is reviewing our current budget and planning a new one, as best we can in this different world. We need your contributions, your gifts and your pledges more than ever. Please be generous – click here to donate through our online account. Click here if you need to make your pledge for the new year that starts July 1.

Our love and care for one another and this beloved congregation is what matters most, and what keeps us going. Stay safe everyone!

Mary Strieff, SUUS Board of Trustees President
