July/August Share the Plate Recipient: Call to Care Uganda

We will share the plate in July and August with Call to Care Uganda, whose mission is to supply villages in Uganda with clean, potable water

. As Martha Hoffman, founder and executive director of the organization, says, “Every living person deserves to live in dignity and absolutely with the right to water.” With the ongoing support of SUUS over the years, Martha and her CTCU team continue their work to alleviate water scarcity issues for women, children, and all those suffering from the water crisis in Uganda. CTCU has drilled 80 wells since its formation in 2007 and has brought health, education, safety, community development, and vitality to over 69,000 lives.

Asante sana (Thank you!!!) for giving generously!

This year, we hope to use our Share the Plate donations to help stem the effects of racism and discrimination against the marginalized in society who suffer from discrimination and oppression, whether because of race, minority status, economic status, immigration status, and gender identity as well as environmental and economic injustices. By donating 50% of our cash offering each week to a designated organization, we offer our congregation and all who visit SUUS a chance to become aware of the many needs in the area and the opportunity to make a difference in the world.
