Faith Formation News – 2/4/21

Dear SUUS Families,

Did you all enjoy a little fun in the snow this week? I sure hope so! We have been exploring the many stages of snow at the Buckley Velasquez House from fluff to slush! It has certainly been wet and fun! I know my shoveling shoulders could use a break, but I hear there might be more snow to come… With that said, please keep an eye on email regarding the Faith Formation hike planned for this Sunday, February 7 at 1pm. If you do not hear from me, then the hike is ON! Fingers crossed!

Thank you to all who imagined and participated in the creation of, “Fatima’s Rainbow Life!” If you missed the service and story you can check out the recorded version here: https://www.shorelineunitarian.org/2021/02/01/watch-jan-31-sunday-service-imagination-and-commitment-are-dangerous/.

It was a busy Sunday last week, as Faith Formation Families had the opportunity to chat with local legislators on Zoom. I was so proud of the children and youth who attended and who asked many important and interesting questions of our legislators. It was a great introduction into learning about being part of a larger community and how their voices and action can make a difference. Many thanks to Benna Lehrer and Beth Skudder for organizing and leading this activity. We are so grateful for your efforts! I look forward to continuing the dialogue and seeing the next steps the children and youth will take in being part of our “Beloved Community.”

Love,
Amy

p.s. Did you know that the SUUS Social Events & Activities Committee has planned a FUNuary?! This week is “Make a Friend” week! Celebrate by saying hello to someone new – it could be a neighbor you haven’t met, that person you usually meet on your walk or at the bus stop. Think of all the people you pass in a week. I look forward to hearing about your new FUNuary friend!
