February 8-14 will be “Don’t Cry over Spilled Milk Week.“
In case you wondered the meaning and purpose behind this week, it’s “don’t be sad over something that cannot be undone”. E.g: You broke a favorite dish, you lost your spare set of keys, you forgot your best friend’s birthday, you said something hurtful to a family member which you regret. We all make mistakes, and it’s important to apologize if your bad decision affected someone else, but you don’t want to stay stuck in regret. Our mental and physical well-being depend on getting past our regrets. Really, it helps our immune system!
So, this week your task is to start letting your regrets go. Perhaps you could write them down on pieces of paper, then rip them up and throw them away. Or blow up an imaginary balloon filling it with your regrets and then release it. Or make some origami cranes and have them fly away with your regrets.
We will share our experiences of the week with Terry at our Zoom lunch on February 15th. If you can’t join us for lunch, feel free to send an email to Terry sharing your experience of unburdening yourself!
