Faith Formation News – 2/18/21

Dear SUUS Families,

THANK YOU Jennifer & Sarah Swenson for an awesome Faith Formation ZOOM Valentine’s Day Bash and spontaneous animal adoption! After a slight disappointment in first choice vote (a Red Panda), Faith Formation has officially adopted an AMUR TIGER from the Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport, CT (Pictures Coming Soon!). THANK YOU Jennifer and Sarah for your creativity and amazing activity packets! If you were unable to join us, you can still pick up a packet (materials & instructions included) at SUUS. Since we don’t have a Faith Formation gathering this Sunday, the activity packets will provide you with some fun for the weekend!

Speaking of FUN…has anyone been participating in the FUNuary activities? This week is Do a “Grouch” a Favor week. We all know what it’s like to be grouchy, and this week FUNuary invites us to make a difference in the life of someone who might need a little TLC (tender loving care). Do you know someone who is feeling a little down, and could use a card, picture or a phone call? What about yourselves? Are you feeling grouchy this week? If so, this week is a great reminder to review your strategies in self-care. Read a book, listen to music, dance, write in your journal, tell jokes or paint a picture. Whatever you do, big or small, will make a difference in your own life or in the life of another. That’s what BELOVED COMMUNITY is about!

Speaking of BELOVED COMMUNITY and taking care of each other…THANK YOU to the Skudder Jobson Family who delivered the food we have been collecting for Amistad Catholic Worker House! Luz & Mark were extremely grateful for the donation, and let us know that our contributions helped provide a HUGE boost to their pantry, and will greatly help the families they are serving. So whether it was one can of beans or a short prayer, together we made a difference in the lives of many.

The FOOD DRIVE continues! Please be in touch if your family would like to make a special delivery.

THANK YOU to all for contributing to our BELOVED COMMUNITY.

Love,
Amy

WORSHIP
Sunday, February 21 at 10:30am: “Use it Up”” – Rev. Terry Sweetser
Use it up; wear it out, make do; do without. That’s the mantra of my New England upbringing. I am a native of New Hampshire which prides itself as the most frugal place in the country. The motto on New Hampshire’s license plates is often mistaken as a patriotic slogan, when, in fact, the words ”Live Free or Die” really refer to the lifestyle choice of many residents.

CHILD DEDICATION
Would you like to have your child Dedicated this year? So far we have two children signed up, and we would love to have more! Rev. Terry and I would like to invite you and your family to participate in a Virtual Child Dedication on March 21 during our worship service. Please let us know if you are interested no later than March 7. In the meantime, please be in touch with any questions!
