Over the past few weeks, the Endowment Review Project team has been meeting regularly to undertake a comprehensive review of the SUUS Endowment Bylaws. We have established and implemented a workplan to analyze the Bylaws from several perspectives, including:
· a review of archival documents pertaining to the Endowment creation and management
· an analysis of endowment “best practices,” including discussion with an external endowment expert
· detailed dissection of the current bylaws
Our goal is to present our recommendations to the Congregation in Fall 2021. These recommendations will focus on the structure and governance of the Endowment, along with categories of appropriate use of Endowment funds. The ERP team will not be recommending any specific spending activities and amounts.
