Faith Formation News – 1/20/22

Dear SUUS Families,

Thank you to ALL who joined the Witness Stones Walk last Sunday. It was great to be together to honor the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., along with sharing stories and honoring those who were enslaved in Guilford, and who helped shape our local community. Their stories are only but a few of many, and their names are: Moses, Phyllis, Montros, Candace, Dinah Gardner, Jouachim, Pompey, Peter, Shem and Tombo. If you were not able to make it on the walk, please let me know and I can share the map and information. Additionally, you can always check out the Witness Stones Project website, and even make a donation for their continued research and very important work.

This weekend we have TWO Faith Formation offerings for families! On Saturday, January 22 at 1pm, Laura Martino and Scott Swenson will host a FAMILY FIREPIT at SUUS and then on Sunday, January 23 at 1pm we will have a HIKE for ALL AGES at Parmalee Farm in Killingworth!

WOOHOO! Hope to see you this weekend!

Love,
Amy

Faith Formation Happenings

WORSHIP
Sunday, January 23 at 10:30am – Zoom Service with Rev. David Horst with a special story presented by Sue Schaedler, Nick Stanford, Amy Buckley & Rev. David!
“This, Not That” – Rev. David Horst brings his perspective on our monthly theme, “Living with Intention,” in his sermon. What is the difference between setting intentions and setting goals? How can we cultivate our “being” and become less obsessive about our “doing”? Why are we ambivalent about making changes to our lives? Rev. Horst addresses these questions and suggests some rituals and practices that help us cultivate our living intentionally.
