Dear SUUS Families,
Fall is upon us and this Sunday we conclude our monthly exploration of “The Path of Belonging.” WE belong to a spiritual community dedicated to Social Justice, and this Sunday we will use our EXPLORATION time together to create a Scarecrow scene for the Scarecrows Invade Madison project focusing on our 5th Principle: “The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large.” Or as we often say in Faith Formation, “Include ALL Voices!” We still have to vote on our final tagline, but one idea is “Don’t be SCARED to VOTE!” Thank you, Martha, for the suggestion! We will begin construction this Sunday, September 25 at 10:30am and invite ALL to participate. Imagine Scarecrows with signs such as, “Register to Vote! Vote 411! Voting Rights are Human Rights!” We hope you will join us on Sunday to create a Scarecrow scene!

“It’s a spiritual thing to really belong to something rather than just fitting in, which might not completely feed your soul or feel good to you. Moving towards places and people where you feel you really belong is a spiritual lifelong goal, with hopefully less just “fitting in”.

OWL Grades 7 – 9
We are thrilled to announce that we will be doing OWL for Grades 7-9 in collaboration with All Souls New London. The classes will run from October through May from 10-11:30am at All Souls and Jennifer Swenson will be one of the facilitators. Thank you Jennifer for committing to our youth and this program!
