SUUS has committed to picking up extra produce from the gardeners at Bauer Park and delivering to the Madison Community Services Food Pantry. We’ve already delivered 20lbs of produce for our neighbors in need! The process includes: 1) placing ice in the coolers by midday on Sunday and 2) making sure rinsed produce is in the coolers by noon on Tuesday when it will be transported. Please help spread the word if you know any Bauer Park gardeners.
Any SUUS members with produce to share can drop off their rinsed produce at the Food Pantry (located at 50 Mungertown Road) between 12 -2 on Tuesdays, or in the coolers at Bauer Farm by noon on Tuesdays.
We need one volunteer to purchase at least three bags of ice every Sunday, and then put these bags in the coolers by midday Sunday – very easy to do on your way home from SUUS! Please contact Beth Skudder for more information, and stay tuned for more information about how you can help.
