We need you! Faith Formation Update

This past Sunday, we discussed important updates about the Faith Formation effort.  First – exciting news – the Director of Faith Formation role has been posted here.  Please take a look and tell your friends about the opportunity!

As the Director of Faith Formation position is a 20-hour per week position, the program will not be a success without a solid cadre of volunteers to crew the ship.  We need you to volunteer to be a Faith Formation Pillar in order to make Faith Formation Programming happen.

Faith Formation Pillar Leaders are volunteers who work with the Director of Faith Formation to set the strategy and work with other volunteers to make the strategy take shape.  The Faith Formation Team has determined that we need leaders for the following Pillars, but these could change based on the needs of the congregation:

1.       Welcome and Connection: Welcome new families

2.       Class and Worship Experience Development:  Collaborate with DFF on lesson planning

3.       Classroom Support and Administration: Help us keep organized!  Manage classrooms.

4.       Social Action: Recruit event leaders and integrate families into social justice activities

5.       Volunteer Recruitment:  Recruit class teachers and substitutes as needed

6.       Social Events:  Plan and oversee all-ages, non-Sunday social events throughout the year

7.       Communications:  Develop and implement communication across SUUS

8.       Nursery:  Ensure staff and volunteers are available to care for our youngest children

9.      Faith Formation Lead: Leader who pulls all this together

This is important work of the WHOLE congregation – parents of young kids, parents of older kids, and non-parents are all welcome and needed!
