THIS SATURDAY: Interfaith Concert on March 30

On Saturday, March 30th, New Haven’s inter-faith community will be coming together for an evening of music and storytelling. “Freedom Songs: An Inter-faith Fundraiser for the Immigrant Bail Fund” will feature live performances by the Afro-Semitic Experience, Music Haven, The Isabella Mendes Bossa Nova Trio and Tina Colón Williams, among others, as well as direct testimony from community members freed from immigration prison by the Immigrant Bail Fund. This incredible evening will be at the Long Wharf Theatre, 222 Sargent Dr., New Haven, CT, 5 – 7 p.m., with doors opening at 4:30 p.m. Tickets will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis at the door. Tickets are free of charge and guests are encouraged to donate generously, with 100% of proceeds dedicated to paying bond for members of our community who are being incarcerated in federal immigration prison. To date, the Immigrant Bail Fund has paid more than $300,000 in bonds and freed 38 community members from wealth-based imprisonment, allowing them to fight deportation from a position of freedom.
