SUUS Book Group News – March & April 2020

SUUS Book Group

The SUUS Book Group meets at 3pm on the third Wednesday of every month. The books are reserved at the Guilford Library on the Book Club shelf or under the name of Irene Roman.

On Wednesday, March 18, the group will be discussing The Oysterville Sewing Circle by Susan Wiggs. Set in the Pacific Northwest, this is a novel of accidental families, domestic abuse, and the strength of sisterhood.

On April 15, the chosen book is The Gown by Jennifer Robson, a historical novel about one of the most famous wedding dresses of the 20th century, worn by Queen Elizabeth, and the fascinating women who made it.

And for long term planning, the book being discussed on May 20th will be The Lilac Girls by Martha Hall Kelly.  Inspired by the life of a real WW II heroine, this novel reveals the power of unsung women to change history in their quest for love, freedom, and second chances.
