May 10 at 10:30am – Multigenerational Online Worship Service (Mother’s Day)
Parents, this one is for you! Worship Coordinator, Jere Armen, will reflect on “Parenting.” How do new times give us the opportunity to set new ways of parenting, of nurturing life, of being responsible persons in the world?
*Please note: There will not be a Children’s Chapel after service this week. Enjoy the day and celebrate together!
Principle 2 in Action!
Yesterday, I sent a note to SUUS Families (see attached PDF below) about a food drive we are coordinating this week to be donated to Amistad Catholic Worker House in New Haven next week. Below is a list of items we are seeking. There will be labeled and covered plastic bins at the top of the exterior stairs at SUUS until next Friday, May 15. Please search your cupboards or if you are able please add an extra item to your shopping cart this week. Children can be engaged in the process by searching for items you might already have or by coming along for the drop-off. Thank you in advance for helping to support Amistad Catholic Worker House and for leading our children and youth in this very important work.
Items Needed:
• Pancake mix and syrup
• Instant and regular oatmeal
• Breakfast cereals
• Coffee
• Sugar
• Powdered non-dairy creamer
• Cleaning products – any kind
• Paper products – napkins, toilet paper, paper towels, paper bowls/plates/cups, plastic utensils
• Canned vegetables
• Canned fruit
• Juice or Juice Mixes – crystal light, iced tea, etc.
*If you are interested in preparing large pans of cooked or uncooked meals (ex. lasagna, macaroni & cheese, shepherd’s pie, etc.), please be in touch with Barb Francese, who has been named our Food Justice Liaison (contact info in SUUS Directory) or contact Amistad Catholic Worker House directly at (203) 624-5517.
