Lights! Camera! Action!

Remember school plays? Remember the excitement and satisfaction of creating a program for an audience – either as an “actor” or as part of the production staff?

The SUUS Worship Committee “Producers” are looking for a few more SUUS people to help organize or present the one or two lay-led services each month on a rotating basis. You’ll join a team of six members currently on the Worship Committee. They give about three hours a month when they volunteer to produce and present a SUUS worship service to inspire our member families. There is just one run-through (a mini-rehearsal) at 12:30 p.m. on the Friday before the Sunday service. You may choose to serve for as few or as many services per year – rotating with the rest of the team – so it isn’t every month unless you fall in love with the drama of worship all over again!

Here are opportunities to serve this important mission:

Coordinator of the Worship Service: Confirm and coordinate with the person who delivers the Reflection. Prepare the Order of Service, help choose hymns, pull together all the parts of the service, and direct the service.

Storyteller: Choose a story, or work with Kathy Helmrich (librarian), to find an appropriate “story for all” and Storyteller. Or volunteer to tell the story yourself.

Zoom Assistant: Support our Zoom Admin, Nick Stanford, during the Worship service.

Technical Staff: Set up and breakdown the equipment for outdoor/indoor and Zoom services.
