News from the Board of Trustees – 5/26/22

SUUS Delegates are Needed for the UUA General Assembly!

If you are free and able to attend GA on June 22-26 virtually and would like to be a SUUS delegate to represent our congregation, please let Sue Schaedler know, and we will determine which registration option works best.  Below you will find information on the types of delegate registrations available and a link to find out more about being a delegate.  Our congregation can have 3 delegates registered to vote.

GA registrations must be for specific individuals and are non-transferable. Delegates have three options for GA registration:

1. In-person Registrant - required for all live GA events and programming taking place in Portland, Oregon. In compliance with UUA event guidelines, all in-person GA participants, age 5 and above, are required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination. In addition, a mask mandate will be in effect. Registered delegates will participate in-person during General Sessions, and will use the GA Delegate Platform to access delegate materials and voting tools.

2. Full Virtual Registrant - required for access to virtual GA programming. Virtual delegates will use the GA Delegate Platform for discussion and voting during General Sessions.

3. Business-only Virtual Registrant - registration provides access to the GA Delegate Platform for discussion and voting during General Sessions. Payment is not required but a donation to offset production and platform costs is suggested. Business-only registrants will not have access to GA programming.

Opportunities to Get Involved on a Deeper Level are Available!

We still have some open Board of Trustee roles for the 2022/2023 fiscal year.  We need one Trustee (formerly called At Large), and we need a Board Secretary to take the minutes at the board meetings and congregational meetings.  We also are looking for a co-chair for House & Grounds.  We need one more new Vision Fund Custodian for the coming year.  Details are available for all roles, please reach out to Susan Schaedler, Gary Feder, or Arthur Belanger for more information.  We must have these openings filled by the Annual Meeting on June 5th.

Important Events You Won’t Want to Miss

June 5th is the date for our end of year Faith Formation party and our Annual Meeting to vote on the budget and slate of officers and committee chairs.  June 12th we will have our end of fiscal year service and celebration at Jacobs Beach followed by a cookout at the beach.  June 19th will be the Sunday we say goodbye and a heartfelt thank you to Reverend Terry.
