Letter from the Board – 11/10/22

Hello everyone. Now that the elections are (mostly) over, we hope you can take some deep breaths and begin to “decompress” from any anxieties brought on by the elections. With that in mind, a few things to mention:

In 1962, a small, dedicated group of shoreline residents got together to form a fellowship congregation that we now know as SUUS, and we are “still here and it’s 60 years later!” Please join us on November 20th for our Thanksgiving service where we will celebrate being thankful and for being together for so many years and going strong into our future!

Welcome to Grace Quilliam, our new Childcare/Faith Formation Assistant. Grace will be handling childcare and assisting Faith Formation as needed on Sundays. It’s great to have childcare available again!

The SUUS Leadership (Staff, Committee Chairs, the Board) met recently to discuss plans for the congregational year. One key discussion involved our Covid 19 policy, which continues to evolve as conditions change. After a review of policies at area churches, along with feedback from visitors who could not provide proof of vaccination, the Board is updating our policy. Masks are still required indoors for all those over 2 years of age, but we will no longer require proof of vaccination. We encourage all who are eligible to be vaccinated to the fullest extent possible. Your continued support of our Covid safety protocols is greatly appreciated.

And, we look forward to seeing you after services this Sunday, November 13, for our Fall Congregational Meeting. A quorum is needed, so please plan to attend this important meeting, at which you will hear updates on our finances and other developments.

Wishing you well –

Sue Schaedler and Gary Feder
Co-Chairs, Board of Trustees
