Here are four important opportunities to give testimony on election-related bills being considered in the CT General Assembly. Questions? Contact Jere Armen

NEW:   Bills regarding election oversight – SB 441; HB 5498

  • Supporting SB 253. 
    Measure to prevent foreign interference in state referenda and elections. 
  • Supporting HB 5048:  Hearing date: 3/26/24

                 Measure to provide funding for Early Voting

  • Support HB 5448 
    Provide poll workers by shielding their addresses, prohibiting guns at the poles. 

While the hearing date for most of these bills has passed already, there is no deadline to submit written testimony. If you submit electronically, here are some tips:

  • In the registration form, list the bills SB 441 and HB 5498 …
  • Where it says “Do you support or oppose,” list “support.”

In your written testimony:

  • Introduction to … Co-Chairs Senator Flexer, Representative Blumenthal, Ranking Members Senator Sampton, Representative Mastrofrancesco and all the distinguished members of the Government Administration and Elections Committee:

  • Mention any groups you belong to that are engaged in this issue, why the bill you are writing about is important (“A healthy democracy requires that voters have confidence that our elections are a reflection of the will of the people”)…
  • Tell your story and how the situation the bill addresses has impacted you, and why the legislature should fix the situation.
  • Provide a conclusion.
