Martha returns to Shoreline UU to discuss her non-profit, Call to Care Uganda
The mission of Call to Care Uganda is centered on bringing health, safety, education and vitality to the people of Uganda through clean,accessible water.
As of last month, CTCU drilled and implemented 94 deep water wells that are now providing clean, safe and accessible water to over 85,000 people in Uganda….one of which SUUS generously helped sponsor.
Martha was named a Rotary “Paul Harris Fellow” in 2008 and 2017. She was also named a SHEro in 2020 by the Women and Family Life Center. In June of 2024, a Proclamation by the First Selectwoman of the Town of Madison named June 23, 2023 “Martha Wells Hoffman and Chris Ochaloi Day” in recognition of their tireless efforts on behalf of Call to Care Uganda.
Most recently, Martha was honored with the prestigious “2024-25 Excellence in Service to Humanity Award” by Rotary International. A monthly giving program called The Fountain is available to assist in fulfilling a goal made by CTCU at the United Nations World Water Conference to drill 100 new wells by 2030 in collaboration with the Sustainable Development Goals.)
