Christine will discuss her experience at the Religious Leader’s Social Justice protest held at Delaney Hall just ahead of the death of Edwin Jovanny López Cornejo, a 41-year-old Salvadoran detainee, who died at Delaney Hall ICE detention facility in Newark, New Jersey, following a medical emergency just days ago.
Christine will share what grounded and motivated her participation and the role that churches and faith groups can play as ICE embeds itself nationwide. She will include who and where they gathered for this historical protest and what organizing and training helped prepare them for their participation. She will also share the conditions she witnessed in and around Delaney Hall and her response to it all.
