Donating securities to SUUS can be a good way to fulfill pledge obligations or make other donations, with tax benefits. Here is information on why you should consider donating stocks to SUUS: Stock Gift Tax Benefits: https://www.uua.org/giving/make-gift/giftsstock/tax-benefits
As announced at the recent Congregational Meeting, our Vision Fund has moved from a private financial management firm to the UU COMMON ENDOWMENT FUND (UUCEF). Previously, donated securities were handled through a private financial manager. With the move to the UUCEF, these donations will now be handled through the UUA. Donors interested in giving securities through the UUA can find all the info they need at https://www.uua.org/giving/make-gift/giftsstock
Gift of Securities to SUUS’s Vision Fund
If you would like to make a donation of securities to SUUS’s Vision Fund please contact one of the Vision Fund Custodians for assistance because the process is different.
To donate securities or to take your required minimum distribution (RMD) from your retirement fund to fulfill your PLEDGE, two forms need to be filled out:

1) CLICK HERE to fill out the Stock Gift Notification form – this tells the UUA what to expect, from whom, and what the gift is for. This is crucial info to submit before the transfer starts to ensure the transfer goes smoothly and that there are no delays. This is also where you will specify that the gift will pay your pledge.
Stock gifts intended for our Vision Fund go through a whole different process and to a different brokerage account. You should contact our Vision Fund Custodians for details
2) CLICK HERE to fill out the transfer instructions – this is the info you will need to give your broker, who will initiate the transfer. As we approach the end of the calendar year, it’s important to start early to make sure you get their transfers in during the 2022 calendar year
If you have any questions about this process please contact Mary Strieff for information
Thank you for your generosity and continued support of SUUS.
