SUUS Green Team can be proud that our efforts to sign petitions and email state representatives have encouraged a batch of environmentally-friendly bills this year in the CT Assembly: most notably the “Green Monster” bill in the House that sets specific targets for zero-carbon electricity by 2030; expands renewable energy deployment, commercial solar and energy storage capacity; will build energy-efficient structures, establish a Green Energy Council and increase workforce training in clean energy; requires greater transparency about sources and costs of electricity; and provides increased capital and rebates for businesses that invest in environmentally-friendly projects. We support the recommendations of the CT League of Conservation Voters. Well done, SUUS Greens!
