Summer Board/Minister Activities – 9/13/17

Jeanne and I, on behalf of your board, would like to share with you some of the main themes we’ve been focused on so far this summer.

  • We are developing a plan to help each of us reach out to, and build relationships with, others in our communities to enhance our ability to transform the world and ourselves.
  • We created clear lines of support for staff and committee members to eliminate unnecessary confusion and help with tasks.
  • We re-established a music search team to find a pianist as wonderful as Emily, and have expanded Amy’s vocal activities to enable her to bring more music into our lives while expanding member participation.
  • We are considering options to upgrade and refresh the sanctuary, grounds and other areas to facilitate those with disabilities and enhance visitor and member enjoyment of our space.
  • We have decided to change our fiscal year to run from January 1 to December 31, rather than from July 1 to June 30, to eliminate unnecessary financial tasks.
  • We approved new dog policy that benefits all members by allowing for service dogs in the church.

Please join Reverend Jeanne and me this Sunday, September 17 at noon to share your ideas for how to make SUUS more wonderful than it already is and to get answers to any questions you may have.

Dan Brill, President
