Religious Education News – January 24, 2018

Nate PawelekOur annual Secret Pen Pals tradition will begin this Sunday, January 28. Children and Adults who have signed up will be paired this week!  You will receive an email with specific instructions for how this works.  Children who do not yet write can have help from a parent. Adults write the first letter this Sunday.  Children wait until February 4 to respond.  All will become clear-er in time.  If you are new to this event and are thoroughly confused, get in touch with me.  Have fun!

There will be a special mini-multigenerational Worship Service on Sunday, February 11 to mark Valentine’s Day (February 14).  The SUUS Orchestra will be performing “All You Need Is Love” by the Beatles (arranged by Nate).  If you would like to join the ensemble let me know, and I will arrange a part for you.

We have started rehearsing the song, “Oh, the Thinks You Can Think” from the musical Seussical.  Rehearsing will continue during Religious Education classes each Sunday through March.  The plan is to perform the song during the March 17th Talent Show.  We will perform the song again for the congregation during the Mother’s Day worship service, so if your child cannot participate on March 17th at the Talent Show, they will still have a second opportunity to sing!
