During the month of May, in honor of George Floyd and the Black Lives Matter movement, we will share our plate with the Equal Justice Initiative, a non-profit organization committed to ending mass incarceration, extreme sentences for children, excessive punishment, the death penalty, and abusive prison conditions through litigation, advocacy, and education.
The Initiative provides legal representation to prisoners who may have been wrongly convicted of crimes, poor prisoners without effective representation, and others who may have been denied a fair trial. It actively works to educate Americans about the legacy of racial injustice. It has earned a perfect score from Charity Navigator.
