Faith Formation News – 10/6/22

Dear SUUS Families,

Scarecrows are near completion, a Faith Formation covenant drafted and our social justice activities posted! It was a productive EXPLORATION last Sunday, and I am grateful to all who participated!

This Sunday, October 9 at 10:30am there will be a multigenerational worship service followed by a FIRE PIT & DRUM CIRCLE led by Steve Ernst & Scott Swenson! We have plenty of drums to share, but please feel free to bring your own!

If you are looking for additional family activities, there are plenty! Here’s the scoop:
Saturday, October 8 from 4-6pm – Save the Sound BEACH CLEANUP @ Madison Surf Club
Join Beth Skudder at the Surf Club or Hammonassett in the morning. Please contact Beth for more info!
Sunday, October 9 from 12-4pm – Madison Pride Fest (SUUS is a sponsor!)
Join Mary Strieff on the Madison Green following the Fire Pit & Drum Circle
Tuesday, October 11 from 6-8pm – LGBTQIA+ FAMILY EVENT @ Polson

Hope to see you at one or more of these gatherings!

Love,
Amy

A Gitchee Gumee Gathering” with Steve Ernst
“In observance of Indigenous Peoples’ Day, Steve will Tell the tale of how UU, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, visited and lived with the Ojibwe/Chippewa Nation during a time when U.S. Government policy was to label all Native Americans as “savages.”  He used his newfound language and cultural learning to pen his epic poem, “Song of Hiawatha.” In doing so, he created America’s first “superhero!”
