Thanks to all who attended last spring’s initial discussion on gun safety.

The consensus is that this group will focus on legislative issues that address our concerns, as well as informing our congregation of action alerts, public witness events and personal safety tips. Below is a summary of our next steps

  • Review SUUS “Safety and Active Shooter Guidelines” and share with congregation
  • Contact both Sandy Hook Promise and CT Against Gun Violence (CAGV) for information on programs, brochures, films, affinity groups.
  • Read the current CT and Federal gun laws
  • Research 2nd amendment challenges, NRA history and Supreme Court cases
  • Seek ministerial support once Rev. Craig has settled in.
  • Contact CT UU congregations and Interfaith community to see what they may be doing.
  • Have future meetings in-person and on Zoom.

If you are interested in learning more, please contact Mary Strieff and she will put you on the email list for future action alerts.
