“Fueling the Fire of Commitment” – Pledge Drive 2024-25

Thanks to all who attended the kick-off of our Annual Pledge Drive on Sunday!
Our rousing Sunday service capped by a rendition of the hymn
“The Fire of Commitment.”

At the lunch after the service, Board Co-Chair Ann Alvarez opened her keynote remarks by announcing that “Fueling the Fire of Commitment” is the theme selected by the Board for this year’s Pledge Drive.

Board members Mike Rosen and Bill Waltrip highlighted the depth of our commitment: enduring support for each other, for SUUS, and for our wider community, and a commitment to holding onto what we have built in areas such as Staff, Faith Formation, Minister and Worship Services, and new Social Justice initiatives.

Treasurer Frank Sirianni described our “zero-based budgeting” plan and confidently announced our Pledge Drive Target: $200,000. This is a healthy 20% increase over last year’s pledge total of $167,000.

Board Co-Chair Gary Feder provided some key info:

  • The Pledge Drive will take place over two weeks – April 8 through April 21

●    To make a “paper pledge,” fill out the paper form available in Fellowship Hall or on the SUUS website (click the link “2024-25 Pledge Info” at the top of the Home Page), then place the form in the Collection Box in Fellowship Hall or send it to Mary Strieff.

●    To make an “online pledge,” fill out the form available on the SUUS website by clicking the link “2024-25 Pledge Info” at the top of the Home Page (note that the online form can accept only one name).

Rev Craig closed the remarks by encouraging us to take this opportunity to show our support for the many things we are thankful to have in our community: a wonderful Staff, a rejuvenated Faith Formation program, Worship Services (and a Minister) that inspire us, beautiful Music, a host of Social Activities, new Social Justice initiatives, a serene Memorial Garden, and excellent Vision Fund stewardship.

A huge “Thank You!” to all our members who give their financial support to SUUS, and to all our members who give so freely of their time and energy to help SUUS thrive.
