For many years this tapestry wall hanging was the focal point of the SUUS sanctuary. This Ghanian piece had been given by the son of a former member and past president, Lucy Grimm.
Several years ago, thanks to the work of member, Liz Miranker, it was accepted as a donation by the Yale University Art Gallery as it is an excellent example of an Arkilla Kirka and now hangs prominently in the Gallery’s African collection.
There will be a visit on Wednesday April 24 with the Gallery’s African curator at 11:00AM. We can carpool into New Haven together.
