August 22, 10:30am: Rev. Megan Lloyd Joiner – “Begin Again In Love”

The Dalai Lama says that compassion is a necessity without which humanity will not survive. With Rev. Megan Lloyd Joiner we reflect on the theory and practice of accessing compassion for others. The secret, we soon discover, is to begin by offering compassion to ourselves.

Bio: Rev. Megan Lloyd Joiner served SUUS briefly as a contract minister in 2014 and is now a healthcare chaplain and the mother of two daughters. She will soon complete a two-year fellowship in Compassion Centered Spiritual Health at Emory University’s Winship Cancer Institute and begin work with both Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Atlanta (UUCA). Megan is a graduate of Union Theological Seminary in New York City. She served as minister at the Unitarian Society of New Haven from 2015-2019 before moving to Atlanta, Georgia in the summer of 2019.
